Invention of Skycraft
The invention of skycraft is relatively recent in the long history of humans. Legends survive from the first centuries of the settlement of the Ancient High Gwenyan Tribes whose descendants became the sky peoples. These legends attempt to explain how the ancestors of the sky people developed the technology of skycraft. They can be divided into two main groups, those that attribute the gift of skycraft to the Isxinthion Gods and those that attribute it to the Elamahti. In modern times, some scholars have advanced the idea that the High Gwenyans invented skycraft independently of supernatural beings, adapting technologies learned from the High Shadevan Tribes. Artifacts of early skycraft survive poorly and attest that such craft were little better than gliders, powered with shamanic energy and totemic devices.
