The five member states of the Dwarven Customs Union of the Jaggudorns

Created in 2729 Hearthmoon, the Dwarven Customs Union of the Jaggudorns is a currency and tariff treaty originally adopted by the Kingdom of Dagdoria, the Amandal Republic, and the Commonwealth of Sardeichs. The union abolished tariffs on goods transported from any one of the dwarven member states directly to another of them. It also created uniform laws of trade and most significantly, a single currency and central banking policy for all three states in the High Bank of the Jaggudorns with governing representatives from all three states.

In 2730 Parkmoon, the terms of the union were revised partly in preparation for the Commonwealth of Gdelisica to join the union in the following month of Hearthmoon which was the eleven year anniversary of the creation of the union. The four member customs union was expanded by the addition of the Kingdom of Themet in 2745 Hearthmoon.

The union is very strong and likely to remain into the foreseeable future.

High Bank of the Jaggudorns

The central banking apparatus of the Union is the High Bank of the Jaggudorns. The High Bank under contract from the Union mints and prints the gold coins and ingots of the Union. The liquidity and financial services of the High Bank of the Jaggudorns have enormous influence on the neighboring states of the Pallathantic.

Jaggudorner Stater

The currency of the customs union is the Jaggudorner Stater, a uniquely squarish gold coin. Its unusual shape was chosen to prevent any confusion between it and other dwarven gold coins issued by the member states before their entry into the customs union. Each member state has one or more mints where it presses coins according to the standard format, but with an imprint of their choosing, in agreement with the customs union.

The Commonwealth of the Ithrads has been courted to join the customs union, but for political reasons remains outside of it. The Commonwealth of the Ithrads has several favorable trade agreements with the Archpatriarchy of Ambrasia.
