The thíamu was the essential piece of women's underclothes during the High Yophenthean Empire, similar to a tunic or women's shifts, typically worn under the sclaiva. The thíamu was often made of linen, draping like a dunic down to the knees or even ankles, worn by being pulled over the head. It was fastened around the waist with a light cincture which did not appear as it was under the sclaiva.
