The proposition that in warfare, an enemy who appears readily assailable may be well prepared for his own defense and his seeming vulnerability may be a key component in his destructive capacity is commonly called 'Draingoblet's Dilemma,' named after Hewlus Draingoblet, the wizardmaster of House Bijäl, who brought it to a greater audience through his writings and the fame of the Fifth Geddamin War.

In battle, a levitating enemy wizard is extremely vulnerable, and therefore only a very powerful wizard would dare such a tactic. The dilemma is whether to assault the wizard or not. If he is weak, the assault is advisable. But if he is powerful, the assault may be poorly spent.
