The Esdekhel River is one of the great rivers of the old world that passes westwards from eastern Sahimb through the dry land of Omre and empties into the Titans Sea. It is part of the vast Esdekhel River Drainage Basin and owes its source to the lake known as the Nursemaid of the Esdekhel which rests on the northwestern edge of the Plateau of Tjur in eastern Sahimb. The river is essential to the economy and culture of Omre. The personified deification of the river is known as Eshu-Dakh.
Eshu-Dakh
The numinous river divinity of the Esdekhel is known as Eshu-Dakh. The deity is an important member of the Omrekheen Pantheon. As the river drains into the western sea, it is thought to be passing into the land or realm of the dead and is used to bury certain persons at sea in funerary barges. The lake, the Nursemaid of the Esdekhel is also endowed by the gods with special powers as this lake renews the river in large measure.
