Aurice has been ruled by dukes, viceroys, and at least one king since the middle ages.

First Senate

According to tradition, Aurician farmers, merchants, and priests first elected members of a senate in the 12th century (1100's).

Mage Senate

1276 to 1287, Omandral Sorcerer King appoints almost one hundred mages as the senators of Aurice to ensure its loyalty to him.

Merchant Republic

• 1417 first duke elected by aristocratic council of Aurice

• 1500, Republic of Orissaçaugo, greater dominion of Aurice which corresponds roughly with modern Goscundy

• Duke Tontegal, to 1637 (slain by member of his guard)

Ugorthine Rule

• Ugorth the Archmage, Defacto Ruler of Aurice, 1637 to 1672

Ulcanovite Rule

• Prince Ulcanov of the Shattered Waters, born 2087, slain 2278, ruled 2119 to 2278 as King of Aurice.

Shaphrizite Regency

• Shaphrizite Regency, 2278 to 2290, (~12)

This is a period of reformation after the slaying of Prince Ulcanov and the execution and expulsion of his government. As in other areas of the Pallathantic Region, Incarnandist (Shaphrizite) governors were eager for the local nobles to assume the command of governance.
