The Scrävvel is an undead creature characterized by its tattooed arcane runes marked all over the preserved flesh of its body. The runes keep the scrävvel under the control of necromantic magic and endow it with power to fulfill its task. A scrävvel is typically of human or humanlike stock, but others are possible due to powerful necromancy.
The destruction of the runes such as by wounding the flesh on which the rune is inscribed, whether intentionally or unintentionally, eliminates the particular power which that rune endowed.
