The drinca was an essential piece of costume for middle and upper classes during the High Yophenthean Empire. Similar to a dalmatic, the drinca had short, wide-opening sleeves. The length of the hem reached the thighs to the knees and was worn by being pulled over the head. The drinca was typically made of linen, embroidered linen, or for Arathraciot nobility, silk brocade. A drinca was worn over the safoth so that the cuffs of the sleeves showed through the wider sleeves of the drinca and the hem of the safoth was exposed from about the knees to the ankles.
