History
The great wizard Ullareadh Jaffbarrow (Ullarod Jaffbarrow) migrated from Thrace to Asbardy in the late 13th century during the First Kalikán Empire of Basgáddin the Conqueror. After the First Kalikán Empire fell, the Jaffbarrow family continued to practice magic but were not so great as their forebear. They served the ruler of Asbardy and eventually arose to the rank of Seneschal in the 18th century (ca 1735), coming into the ownership of lands in their own right. They prospered under the rule of the Archmage and survived the Seventh Is’bajath. Under the New Kalikán Empire, they had most of their lands confiscated and their title removed by the Thracian Viceroyal Duke. With the ascent of the Archduchy, their title was restored, but not their land. What relatively little land they kept, they produced wine on, the most excellent wine called Serulese Languid.
The standard for derogation for lesser noble ranks in Asbardy is rather loose and allows for most agricultural enterprises, including wine-making.
