The medallion worn by Arathracian priest-nobles was called a tefry (tephirreach). The practice discontinued sometime during the period of the Yohenthean Successor States. The tefry was a symbol of a sun in glory and represented the aristocratic and religious power of the priest-noble and was thought to protect the wearer from spellcasters.
