In 2571 Gallimoon, Magdisuman Priestesses and key nobles, including Griovain Llyffclaw, led nobles to revolt against the rule of the Thracian Viceroyal Duke of Magdala, Gämunk Hasunk, and drove him from the throne. The King Emperor of Thrace, Ädaz Vädukund, installed Kraspar Dava as the new Viceroyal Duke of Magdala. However, Kraspar Dava was never able to take up the viceroyal throne in Trevirs due to the ongoing revolt in Magdala. The League of Pytharnia arose in 2572 Bralmoon led by Griovain Llyffclaw, a Magdalan aristocrat of Medibgóëse heritage, and other rebellious princes of southern Pytharnia who wished their various countries and lands to be liberated from the yoke of the New Kalikán Empire. The other princes and commanders acknowledged Griovain Llyffclaw as their military leader. Agairth Srunamba was also a great ally of the League of Pytharnia. The League of Pytharnia was dissolved after the Great Sky War and was replaced by the Empire of Magdala with the reign of Llyffclaw's son Mediglame I, the first ruler of the Llyffclavian Dynasty and of the modern Empire of Magdala. The Battle of Pytharnia was a great victory of the League under the leadership of Griovain Llyffclaw and Agairth Srunamba. The League was an inspiration for other unions, such as the later League of Corundy.
