The Invasion of Gavalúkh Skylord originated in the Vale of Thrace at the annual spring Mustering of the Tuvarions in 837 and culminated in the First Sack of Yophénthë, 840 which helped bring about the end of the of the High Yophenthean Empire. The Thracians had suffered several harsh winters and suffered from Yophenthean economic policies with regard to tursinkdoos and other important resources. They also learned of the War of the Courtiers that had begun in 833 and had left the Yophenthean Empire without a supreme military legate. The noble warriors made Gavalúkh son of Tazalúkh a skylord and set off in their skycraft over the course of the Shadew River.
