It lies across from the subcontinent of Sungo by means of the Sungotine Sea. It is bounded to the north by the Kujehiri Steppe, to the east by the deserts and mountains of Shahaz, and to the south by Xai Ji Tswo in Eurithia. Gwo-Dao has long cultural ties to Sungo. Further afield, Gwo-Dao has cultural and commercial ties with Eurithia and Opaz.

Gwo-Dao is famous for its production of silk, especially the high prized histopter known as Skysilk or (翼丝 'Wing Silk') which it continues to this day.
