m (name changed to titan-arm rather than magearm)

Line 1: Line 1:
A magearm is titancraft device that beams an energetic projectile and is typically based upon a larger titancraft artillery weapon.  A magearm is considered distinct from a traditional bladed or tipped weapon that uses magic merely to enhance its otherwise conventional effect.  Magearms are occasionally called titanarms.  Magearms draw ambient magical energy for relatively simple combat effect much like a projectile weapon or dwarvenfire and in this regard differ from traditional magical weapons from a wizard's repertoire.  Additionally, magearms in the past hundred years have become cheaper and easier to construct and can be employed by troops in war, usually elite troops with special training.  Magearms are much cheaper than exotic magical devices that typically require skilled attunement, but significantly costlier than dwarvenfire weapons and traditional weapons.

#REDIRECT Titan-arm

In this regard, they usually employ a design characteristic of titancraft.  Magearms and related titanarms have been in use for centuries, but were particularly developed after the Isbajutha, until they came to play a critical role in the 2600's in the Sewdhaine War.

Magearms derived from titancraft have been slow in development due to the challenges of subtitanization of the technology.  They are cumbersome to wield.  They also require panox due to their relatively small size compared to standard titancraft artillery, making their use and maintenance costly and not feasible for the armament of military units en masse.  They were employed in some numbers during the Sewdhaine War alongside dwarvenfire and conventional weapons.  Magearms also played an important role alongside titancraft artillery during the Expansion of Inland Aurician Empire in Late 2600's.

Magearms are less effective against most magical beasts and magically enhanced humanlikes.
