The tall, white towers of Galmaddin Castle on the slopes of the North Skrall Mountains symbolize the historic majesty of the Mipnor Monarchy.
The Royal Domain of Galmaddin is the territory of the present-day monarchy of the Skymark within the greater territory of the capital city of Galmaddin proper. The present-day monarch exercises direct but limited power over the Royal Domain of Galmaddin.
The creation of the Royal Domain of Galmaddin in 2516 is seen by many scholars as the conclusion of the process of the reduction of the power of the Mipnor Monarchy in modern times. The monarchy persists as a figurehead with many ceremonial functions, largely religious, for the Skymark. The king may not leave the territory of the Royal Domain of Galmaddin without the permission of the General Assembly of the Skymark Federation.
