The Rhionian Principle is the irrational faculty of human consciousness. It is sometimes called the 'mantic' as it is often regarded as the purview of priests and soothsayers. The 'pseudomantic' is the false use of this power, whether through fraud or incorrect reception. The Rhionian Principle is contrasted with the Arathracian Principle which is understood in Arathracian Philosophy.

Rhionian Philosophy is an uncommon expression that has reference to the small following of Ithatian philosophers who preferred the irrational over the rational. The expression is sometimes considered a contradiction in terms as most philosophies of the Golden Age of Ithatian Philosophy were predominantly rational and studied philosophy as a rational undertaking.
