Medibgö was thought unamenable to unification by the ancient Ithatians who saw its many skynesses as too reclusive to acknowledge a central authority. The fifth and sixth centuries however saw the general amalgamation of power throughout the Pallathantic Region and Medibgösk skynesses with their orderly and predictable orbits eventually fell under the spell of a series of powerful sorcerer lords who sought to concentrate all power in their own person. Threwggerch' umba Kemiag also known as Threwggercha I through battle, diplomacy, and even personal combat brought the lords of the great skynesses to acknowledge him as suzerain, the first Sorcerer-King of Medibgö.

Theba Dynasty
Smalffalgö Dynasy
The Smalffalgö Dynasty established the first emperor partly to stem the influence of chaos and to create a strong and lasting dynasty. The dynasty was long-lived (about 266 years), but is known more for its colorful rulers and eventual succumbing to the powers of Chaos, opening the way for the Middle Ages of Chaos in Medibgö.
Middle Ages of Chaos
The so-called Inter-Imperial Period of Medibgö corresponds largely with the Middle Ages of Chaos. During this time there was neither sovereign nor suzerain ruler. Foreign rulers sometimes addressed Ddägduch as 'Suzerain' but he never assumed the title himself. The Inter-Imperial Period began with the fall of the Smalffalgö Dynasty in the twenty first century when Isladborn III was revealed to have been an Aio imposter. He called champions to defend his besmirched honor and other powerful houses in turn called champions to restore the dignity of House Smalffalgö. This began the War of the Champions of Smalffalgö, 2079 to 2085. The war persisted for a few years after the death of the Aio imposter. The war was officially concluded when the high priest of Am declared the Aio Imposter dead and House Smalffalgö avenged. Dynastic struggles however continued well into the next century with no house rising to the status of imperial rulership. The practice of chaos magic was widespread and brought about the downfall of some houses and the ascendancy of others. This list gives some of the more powerful houses who wielded considerable influence over the skynesses of Medibgö.
