The River God of the Thybdis River, Thebed, is propitiated throughout Eloaria, particularly in the lands through which the Thybdis River flows. Eventually draining into the Memnosian Sea, the Thybdis River is one of the ten greatest rivers in the world and the second largest river in western Asdauria after the Shadew River.

Thebed's name bears many variants: Th'bed, Tvedd, Tweth. For the uhlaks, centaurs, and other humanlikes of Eloaria, no distinction is made between the name for the River and the name of the god of the river, these creatures regarding the river and its divinity as one and the same.

Since ancient times, shrines and sanctuaries have lined the shores of the river, increasing in number as one approaches the mouth of the river. In a former time, the shrines were sometimes named after another river god, such as Ibrew, Tayhoyre, or Shadew, as it was thought that a river god would not willingly drown the shrine of another great river god.
