Shaliz-Um-Warif is a great kingdom of the western desert of Weshif.

Shaliz-Um-Warif is a large kingdom in western Weshif. The royal seat is in Bamuth Nesir. The land of Behrat is part of the kingdom and governed locally form the city of Hebjirat. In the past several decades, Behrat has become autonomous and its local government is strained at best with the king. Most of Shaliz-Um-Warif is wastelands, part of the Khadzawtha Wastes of western Weshif. The Refuge of the Suli-Jiyeh Mystics rests in eastern Shaliz-Um-Warif. Shaliz-Um-Warif borders Rala-Pithur, the Sultanate of Beph-Themesh, and small stretch of the Dominion of the Djinn. Shaliz-Um-Warif is most famous for its flying city, the hullness Muse of the Sands.

Relations with Other States

Shaliz-Um-Warif has good relations with the half-jykks of Danona and the Djinn. To the far east, a small portion of its border is shared with the Djinn. This border is carefully guarded to prevent persons from entering into the lands of the djinn and thus invoking their anger. Peace exists today between the Kingdom of Nahirwa Dathi and Shaliz-Um-Warif.

Due to the smuggling, acceptance of fugitives, and other illegal activities that take place in Shaliz-Um-Warif, its relations with Shagrela'al and other states is often poor.

Azaurya Neutral Zone

The Azaurya Neutral Zone is part of the treaty that established peace. This territory may not be occupied by the military of either kingdom and is largely empty. Fugitives from the justice of Shaliz-Um-Warif sometimes take refuge in the Azaurya Neutral Zone.

Commerce

Shaliz-Um-Warif thrives on the commerce of all manner of goods from across Asdauria.

Contraband and Smuggling

Illegal goods include unlicensed books, euphorium, stolen goods, especially titancraft, and chaos relics. Officially slavery and the trade of chaos wares are illegal, but the authorities tend to turn a blind eye to the trade of chaos wares. Slavery is punished, but usually local vigilantes and merchants prevent it before the authorities are needed. Nonethless, a certain amount of human trafficking takes place by very discreet traders.
