Hakamos
An Ithatian myth relates how Hakamos, the son of the King of Thykomos, prayed to the goddess Bralla for passage to Isxinthios. The goddess sends a bird to speak with him. First he must learn the language of the birds. By means of the bird-messenger, Hakamos undergoes several tests and trials. He passes them all and is taught how to voyage to the sunmoon, Bralla. At length, Hakamos voyages to sunmoon and then meets Bralla. He is taught further esoteric knowledge and then passes to Isxinthios.
The myth of Hakamos is of great significance to mages in the Ithatian and Midretassene traditions. The image of Hakamos is often used to signify Brallatinian studies, though Hakamos himself was not considered a magic-practitioner. Scholars have traced the myth of Hakamos back to the seventh century before Salmakhamer in Kalaman records.
