The word vicivile is the transliteration of a Throvian word for the chief magistrate of a vicif, a district of the city of Aurice. Today the vicivile is elected by the gentry of the respective district. By tradition, he may not be an aristocrat or of serf heritage. The office of vicivile has some powers, but is ultimately responsible to the municipal government appointed by the Noble Senate.

Related Terms: Vicivain: inhabitant of a Vicif, Vicivile:chief magistrate of a municipal district, Vicival: adj, pertaining to a Vicif. Vicival Basilica: The courthouse and archives for a vicif, also known as a 'vicifhouse.' These petty basilicas are not so big as an ancient Roman basilica. Each typically consists of a round tower with a pointed cupola.
