The terranization 'sunmonth' indicates the lunar period of sunmoon. Asdaran astronomers report that a true sunmonth lasts about twenty five (25) days (24.366 exactly), with about 16 months per year. The duration of a sunmonth is typically incorporated into the lunar months of a given calendar and more important than that of a starmonth. The reckoning of the Common Year has only fifteen months as they have been lengthened by one or two days and so they do not accurately correspond with a true astronomic lunar cycle of sunmoon.
