The Qaish'aa are the dwarves whose ancestry is traced back to Midrardia. They differ from the Amandal, Khonda, Shihethwö, Entele, and Tuhumpawa dwarves. The Qaish'aa homeland is in the mountains of southern Midrardia where they are thought to have originated since before the Flood of Aturyanda. From the Qaish'aa dwarven homeland sometime after the great flood, several branches sprang. Into Barathorn immigrated the the Bukalaan Dwarves and the Dhahim Dwarves. Eastwards into the Jaggudorns immigrated the Ikhuzite Dwarves and into central Pytharnia immigrated the Ithradic Dwarves into the mountains that bear their name. Subsequently, the Ithradic Dwarves established colonies in the southwestern. The languages of these dwarves have been determined by philologers to derive from a common ancestor. In the cases of the languages of the Ithradic dwarves of the southwest Jaggudorns, the relationship is fairly apparent between their dialects of Ithradic and that spoken in the Ithrad Mountains. The term Qaish'aa is generally a historical and cultural term used by scholars and few modern lay dwarves typically consider themselves Qaish'aa.
