The Corundian Language derives from the Classical Yophenthean language. Corundians use names from the parent culture of their tongue with a good dose of Ithatian and Tassan names.

Family Names

Unlike other Yophenthean Languages, modern Corundian does not use patronyms or matronyms. Sometime in the late Middle Ages of Chaos, people started to take the name of the sire of their family's lineage rather than their immediate father's name and this so for both men and women. By the early modern period, people took the name of their forebears in the genitive plural after the fashion of the Erechórebese. The two practices became entrenched side by side and patronyms became a matter of antiquarians.
