Amzhebar
Amzhebar is an ancient chaos god now proscribed in the West. Amzhebar corresponds to the name widely used in the southern Pallathantic, Memnosian Sea region, and Danona, and answers to the name Amyz used in southern Pytharnia. The name originates from Am + zhebar, 'Amrulon' + 'zhebar. The divinity was once greatly admired by a caste of priests and devotees during the Middle Ages of Chaos. His worship is proscribed today in the West.
According to legend, the god Amzhebar was conceived by the union of the sun god, Amrulon ('Am') and the sky god, Sky Father, without the aid of the female gender. Conceived through the power of lightning on a clear day, the god became associated with male homosexuality. He couples with the goddess Nesbiria on only one day a year, vernal equinox.
Amzhebar's followers, the 'Marked of Amzhebar,' also known as 'Amzhebarions' or 'Amzhebarites,' are men forbidden to have sexual relations with women, save on one day of the year when they couple with the priestesses of Nesbiria. They otherwise may have relations with men. They are marked with a blue (woad) symbol on the forehead. The 'Beloved of Amzhebar' are priests of Amzhebar.
Arathracians are particularly critical of the cult of Amzhebar, considering it a gross perversion of the sun gods.
