In ancient times, the tight-lipped dragonmount riders would slay any outside who spoke the words of their tongue. The centuries have ensured that many words have passed into the knowledge of scholars and sages and it is possible but inadvisable for someone determined to speak the cant. The philological method paired with knowledge of Neptultchi glyphs has brought much to light.

Dragonmount Cant is still spoken among the dragonmount riders of Pytharnia and is known to be a pastiche of late Neptultchi language and early Moigthe lexicon. Its grammar is simple and the spoken cant deals primarily with the exercises of dragonmount warriors and the care of domesticated dragons.
