City of Gnousikai set against the southwestern Harbor of Gnousikai in the Bay of Gnosiousa

Gnousikai is the historic capital resting in the Bay of Gnosiousa on the east coast of the Ithatian island of Maturn. Today Gnousikai is the capital of the province of Maturn and a major center of the study of the arcane arts in the West. The historic core of the city rests on the coast, including a small peninsula. Gnousikai expanded over the century further inland and the greater area is about five or six times the size of the core area. Modern Gnousikai is bounded by the suburbs of Gontoko on the west and on the east by Aspadhida.

Gnousikai is served by the Dravantinos Maturnian Dragonrail Line which communicates through the city from Tinanthis on the coast to the north through the mountainous interior to Priodezza on the south coast of Maturn.

Bromba

The Bromba is the district in the city where halflings and other foreign humanlikes began to increase in great numbers during the medieval period. The word is now often applied to any ghetto in larger cities of the Pallathantic Region. The inhabitants of the Bromba as well as of any district so named are sometimes called brombagees. Today the Bromba district is a celebrated enclave with many halflings, humanlikes, and many expatriot humans, and is known for its divergent artistic community and political activists.
