According to Kalaman legend, the gods built the Jahambutha before the Great Flood to shield the world of Asdar from invasions of dragons. Legend recounts that the Jahambuttha was destroyed in a final war with the dragons in which the dragons were also defeated. The Tassan scholar Ligmathya Shapphujhanya dates the construction of the Jahambuttha to some 12,240 years before the Coming of Salmakhamer. Scholars of the non-titanist school reject the historicity of the Jahambuttha, ascribing it to legend. Titanist scholars generally accept the account of the Jahambuttha as containing a kernel of historical accuracy.
