The modern study of the physical planet, Asdar, including the land and the seas is called magdeology (also spelled magdæology) and is similar but not identical to geology on the planet Earth. A person whose expertise is in magdeology is a magdeologer.

Etymology

The anglicization "magdeology" originates from the Asdaran word 'Magdaia,' an ancient name for the mother goddess of the earth and sea in the Pallathantic Region. It is not translated as 'geology' as magdeology involves the belief in energetics that is foreign to the hard science of Earth.
