Mallegrin Hound
A canine race, the mallegrin hounds are slender creatures with jet black coats of short fur—with the figure of a largish greyhound. They have human intelligence and can speak, though they only do so around their masters so as to avoid the undue attention that a talking dog brings. Like their masters, the mallegrin hounds are only male and they can beget only male mallegrin hounds. When the work of an aio is done, he feeds his seduced mistress to his mallegrin hound pet—a reward the hound eagerly awaits. After a mallegrin hound gorges on the seduced charges of his master, he gains several powers for a couple of days: the power to walk on water, the power to bear his master with the ease and speed of a war horse, the power to crush bone and flesh in its jaws, and the power to negate magic with his howling. In fact, a mallegrin hound will eat naught else but the flesh of his master’s victims and the hound has the power to fast without ill effects for months, even years. A mallegrin hound can see invisible, phase, astral, and ethereal creatures like his master—he also can hear whatever his master says no matter where he is as long as the two are on the same world or plane. The blood of a mallegrin hound is not discernibly different from any other hound’s blood—except when mixed with wine [sugar & alcohol?]. The combination is a particularly deadly contact venom to which aio and mallegrin hounds are immune.
