Metamagics
Metamagics is the scholarly study of magic as it behaves and functions in the World Soul and the cosmos. Anciently, metamagics was the study of the transcendental nature of magic between the microcosm and the macrocosm. Modern metamagics includes the study of ambient magical energy, naturally occurring magical phenomena, magical energy in living creatures, and magical environments. A metamagician is a scholar of metamagics. Metamagics as it is presently understood began during the Golden Age of Ithatian Philosophy about twenty seven centuries ago.
Many of the studies and knowledge of metamagics are now explored and understood through the science of arcanodynamics which principally differs in that it places little or no emphasis on the relationship between macrocosm and microcosm.
