The farthest extent of the Omandraline Empire of Sky

1276 to 1287, A short-lived, but fairly large domain, carved out by Omandral Sorcerer King, a Medibgösk-Jerushablan spellcaster. The dominion crumbled to local rulers after its ruler succumbed to the power of his djinn servitors. The Omandraline Empire of Sky foreshadowed the future dominions of both sky tribes and the powerful spellcasters of the Middle Ages of Chaos. The empire was contemporary to the Settlement of Gonfaloy. Omandral, born of a Medibgösk father and a Jerushablan mother, converted to the Imzaha religion and learned the arts of magic. He vowed to defeat the Geddamin and was inspired by the former dominion of the Archmagedom of the Paleologus.

Omandral had an itinerant court, ruling from his jaibu palace that rarely remained more than a starmonth over any specific locale on the surface. He divided his domain into several provinces and appointed governors to rule them.

The Omandraline Empire of Sky collapsed after the Sorcerer King's djinn servitors turned on him and fled to their homeland. Local rulers assumed leadership of their polities. Rulers who had converted to Imzaha acknowledged the King (Zehlib) of Shagrela'al as their overlord.

Policy

Omandral avoided direct rulership over many of the lands he defeated in war. He used this policy to reduce the resources needed to govern. He required many lands to make treaties of peace with him while recognizing their independence. He established persons in these lands whose loyalty to him could be counted upon. Lands he defeated but did not directly incorporate into his empire included Goscundy, Vimalia, Maturn, Sanoman, Zander, Bantheffrey, Brandolphi, and Tinchozzo. He made plans to subject Gliri and other lands, but died before he could accomplish these aims in campaign.

Aurice

Omandral Sorcerer-King deposed the local ruling dynasty. He established the mage-Khamilúkiate and created the Mage Senate to ensure his loyalty to himself. While the local rule of the Mage-Khamilúk disappeared after Omandral's death, the Mage Senate endured for well over a hundred years. Despite this involvement in the internal affairs of Aurice, Omandral's dominion never extended farther to the west than western Corundy.

Vimalia

Omandral defeated the princes of Vimalia (Johaulia, Addinoro, Agdaire) and made a treaty of peace with them, permitting them independence, but making them subject in some aspects of foreign policy to Omandral.

Downfall

As a result of a palace coup led by some dissident djinn, Omandral was slain. Details of this coup are not well recorded. His empire fragmented into various local principalities and archpatriarchies.
