An ancient Papyrus

A papyrus is a document made from the papyrus plant found in Shelekhumbia and Omre. Important papyri survive from antiquity and remain of great scholarly value among the schools of the Pallathantic Region. The use of the papyrus plant for a writing medium is dated to as early as 5,500 AS.

Papyri are enormous cultural resources and can perish in a humid environment. Papyrologers are entrusted with both the care and study of these priceless documents. Papyri are often hunted by vulgar treasure-seekers to be sold for quick cash. Mages and their underlings are known to sift through old libraries in the dim prospect of finding an arcane papyrus that could give added insight into their studies. Mage-oriented papyri or so-called 'magic papyri' are rare today as most have been converted by scribes into the codex format.
