Skiánthra, Lord of Golden Eaglekind, is the special envoy of the god Arathrax. Appearing as a giant golden eagle with heavenly halo, Skiánthra is the messenger of the sun gods, particularly Arathrax. Skiánthra often rests in the chariot of the sun when Arathrax drives it across the daytime sky. Skiánthra was instrumental in the conception of Saint Aireánnau and is recognized as a divinity by the Arathracian Religion. In myth, Skiánthra is a liminal being that crosses the divide between the mortal world and the higher world of the Arathracian heaven.

In Arathracian art, Skiánthra is depicted standing upright on his claws with a glass elixir dangling by a thin golden chain from his beak. His image was sacred to the legions of the Yophenthean Empire and he appeared frequently in imperial art.

In the Arathracian Religion, Skiánthra is thought to bear away the spirit of the faithful deceased whose bodies are raised up in the practice of sollevation whereby they are exposed to the sky and their flesh is devoured by all manner of birds.
