The word vicivile is the transliteration of a Lucacian word for the chief magistrate of a vicif, a district of the city of Aurice. Today the vicivile is elected by the gentry of the respective district. By tradition, he may not be an aristocrat or of serf heritage. The office of vicivile has some powers, but is ultimately responsible to the municipal government appointed by the Noble Senate.
