Arathracian Calendar

The Arathracian Calendar begins on Winter Solstice or the day immediately after Winter Solstice when the sun is newly on the ascent and the day is once again lengthening. The first year marks the year when Erithráigean was born or the winter (midyear) of 225 AI. The year 2745 AI is 2520 AC (Arathracian Calendar). The Arathracian Calendar does require intercalary days. These days during the Yophenthean Empire were added by themselves to the end of the year and considered particularly inauspicious as Days of Chaos. Sometime after the empire, they were added to particular months.

The Arathracian names of the months are thought to have been given to the months of the existing holy year of sixteen months in the fifth century AI.
