Awakening of the Geddamin

The period of time during the late Middle Ages when the leaders of the Gorcorumbese Geddamin actively sought out kumenontli and released the Geddamin from within them is known as the Awakening of the Geddamin, roughly 2215 to 2480. Before this time, the Geddamin of the Ephysgæes did not fully understand how to activate the release mechanism as they expected their Titan masters to do so. All of the original Geddamin released during this period and the Geddamin who released them have perished as their lifespan is usually less than two hundred years. The last known Geddamin awoken from a kumenontli died in 2693.

The Gorcorumbese claim they learned how to do this themselves, but most human scholars believe that Strakkos Chaos Mage of Ebinóë discovered how to release them around the 2200's and then taught the Gorcorumbese who were his subjects at the time. There is reasonable evidence for both positions. Strakkos ordered the Gorcorumbese to release their fellows and he then enslaved them to his chaos gods. Strakkos found their titancraft amusing and did little to exploit its technology further.

The humiliation and capriciousness of Strakkos's rule was one of the motivations for the Gorcorumbese conquest of Ambrinqua in the Ebinóëse War of 2477 to 2486 which is considered the conclusion of the Awakening of the Geddamin The Geddamin released from kumenontli were deemed to be nobles among their own kind and soon became the leaders after their release. They also possessed much knowledge of titancraft and wizardry, creating in them formidable enemies for the Pallathantic nations.

Yambali Adijo

Yambali Adijo (2187 to 2362), was a member of a Gorcorumbese family that was bound in service to Strakkos. Yambali witnessed the release of the first kumenontli from their suspension by the chaos magic powers of Strakkos. She fled from the service of Strakkos in 2253, during the confusion of the Third Isbajath, (2251 to 2255), and lived in hiding, helping the tisbajuma defeat Strakkos. After the war, she realized that the Gorcorumbese were still suffering and departed on a quest by herself to the Adamantine Mountains where she recovered at least two kumentontli and brought them back to Gorcorumb. She became a leader and later a heroine as she led at least four other expeditions to recover kumenontli. In 2362, under circumstances that are uncertain, she was slain, possibly as part of ritual combat.
