Conception of Threy
Threy was born through deception and is the god of deception, wile, and mischief. The god Orclanx without a wife sought a woman to bear him a son. He sent his minions to capture the tears of the goddess Eriu. They brought him the tears which he used to take upon himself the persona of the great god Amrulon. The ancients describe this as a time when it seemed that the sun shone in the middle of the night. Parkia, in a dreamlike state of night, was deceived by his appearance, mistaking him to be her husband, the sun god Amrulon, and she lay with him. But after the mingling, Orclanx retired next to her and the tears of Eriu dripped from off his body, revealing his true self. Parkia recoiled in horror and Orclanx, with a cruel laugh, fled into the night into the depths of the earth. Parkia rushed off to Amrulon to protest the foul deed.
Amrulon was enraged and brought intense sunlight across the land that caused great drought that burned crops and caused famine. Parkia bore the child. Amrulon thought to cast the infant down to the depths of the earth, but Parkia demanded that she keep the child until Orclanx was punished. When mortals died from the drought and famine, Orclanx laughed and said that his dominion only increased. In turn, Amrulon decreed that the child would not submit to Orclanx's word and that in any given year, the child would have the power to steal any single mortal from death that he chose. For this reason, Threy is also considered a judge of the dead (Orkybanth) and a god of rebirth.
