The Ilinx Vortifex was engineered and constructed in 2598 by Metropolitan Skycrafters, an Aurician Corpus Merx working in cooperation with Merchant Aviator Industries who had designed the prototype Ilinx Titancraft Engine in 2597. The advent of the Ilinx Vortifex greatly increased the speed and efficiency of Titancraft Skyships for Aurician and foreign customers. In less than seven years, in 2603, the dwarves of the Ithrads had developed the equivalent engine and vortifex, the Tachydine Titancraft Engine and the Tachydine Vortifex. Nonetheless, it was an amazing achievement in a technology that had been largely dominated by the Gorcorumbese Geddamin.
