Jamenth Plateau
The Jamenth Plateau rests between spurs of the southeastern Jaggudorn Mountains where is found the Commonwealth of Jamenth. The Olipheimuz Mountains form its southern and eastern boundary. The plateau has short, cool summers and very cold winters. The Abristal River and its main tributary, the Skleihaspuki River drain glacial melt from the surrounding mountains through the plateau into the Shadew River. The plateau is covered with woodlands and brush.
The Jamenth plateau has been the home of the skyfaring tribe since the first millennium before Salmakhamer. The Jamenths occupied primarily the lower valley and adopted seasonal transhumance for gontha herding. The Carsars herded gontha between the alpine valleys of the Olipheimuz Mountains and the Shadew River as it passes through the Canyon of the Shadew. In the first millennium after Salmakhamer, the ruling Raskanya Tribe of the Jamenths vied with the Kalikán for dominance of the High Shadevan Valley, an essential resource for pasturing gontha which provided river barge access for timber and merchants. The Thracian tribes were able to migrate on the river into the southern proximity of the Jamenths, trade or wage battle with them, and then use skycraft to return to Thrace.
The Jamenth Plateau today like Thrace is a great producer of hard wheat and exports its surplus by means of the Grand Shadew Canal to the hungry nations of the Pallathantic Region. The capital of Jamenth is Kamentalblaithe. Jamenth neighbors the Amandal Republic and the Commonwealth of Sardeichs to the west, and the Principality of Hamalan to the east. The Commonwealth of Thrace lies to the north.
