Joturnia
Joturnia is the smaller planet of the Joturnia-Mithgorne System. Joturnia is central setting of the World of Joturnia which exists within the greater universe of the World of Asdar. Joturnia and Mithgorne rotate a common barycenter and orbit the star Zalawt. They are in the fourth planetary orbit of the Zalawti System. These worlds were inhabited and according to legend engineered in their peculiar configuration by the Arch-Titans in perhaps the unimaginably deep past of the cosmos.
Of the two worlds, Mithgorne is an immense oceanic super-earth, while Joturnia is a terrestrial world in permanent axial lock with its greater companion. Joturnia and Mithgorne share the same axis, that is the, the line of Joturnia's north-south axis continues through space through the north-south axis of Mithgorne. This axis is associated in Joturnian lore with the god Gluke. This sets Joturnia on its side, similar to Venus. Despite this extreme tilt, Joturnia does not have as extreme climate as expected. The north pole of Joturnia points exactly to the south pole of Mithgorne which appears in the northern skies as an immense world. The closer one approaches the north pole, the higher that Mithgorne rests in the apparent sky until at or near the true north pole, the world of Mithgorne rests at the zenith.
Joturnia is home to millions of humanlike and fantastic creatures. Nearly half of the terrestrial surface of the world is ruled by the Terubian Empire based in the hot southern hemisphere. The frosty northern hemisphere, tribes and creatures roam freely in defiance of the Terubian Empire.
