The greatest island of the Shadevan Delta is Kumeikenot. The name is derived from the ancient city of Kumeikë on its south coast which is in turn related to the word 'Kumei' which is the root of the word 'Kumeimidir' which translate as 'Stone Giants.' Small, but rocky mountains fill the interior of the island and have been the habitation of Stone Giants since prehistoric times. The island is also famously the site of legendary city of Moya. There is a dormant volcano in the mountains north of Kumeikë.
Kumeikenot Island is part of the Aurician Over-Province of the Shadevan Delta. The city of Kumeikë is also the over-provincial capital. The island is rich in agriculture, fishing, viticulture, mining, and logging.
