Lake Chancha is one of several large inland bodies of water in Old Zephasia. Lake Chancha is sometimes seen as a sister lake to Lake Imna-Tak to the northwest. The shores are completely wooded with tropical forestation and the waters are abundant with freshwater fish.

The lake is still visited by Bahunan Fishfolk and despite efforts by independent human groups to settle it, remains wild. Small settlements of fishfolk dot the shores. There are no known large settlements of fishfolk. The rulers of the human cities of Chagrala, Temutmatha, and Prakoomatha have generally refrained from attempts to conquer or colonize the area to avoid upsetting the Bahunan Fishfolk who could be triggered to unite and wage whole scale war. The numinous divinity of the lake is not well known or understood by humans, but is thought to be well-propitiated by the fishfolk.
