b 1033, d 1097, Aglidice; Archmage, 1068 to 1097; ruled 1072 to 1097. Orkybanthius the Archmage was a powerful wizard of mixed Yophenthean and Ebinóëse heritage who organized the relics of the Yophenthean military after its commanders were slain by Gorcorumbese Geddamin. He incorporated mages and spellcasting into his military tactics and employed an overall strategy to defeat the Geddamin. He became the founder of the Archmagedom of the Paleologus and established a college of mages to determine successors. Like most humans of northern Ambrinqua, Orkybanthius spoke ancient Ambrinquan. The Archmagedom persisted until 1230 when it finally succumbed to the assault of the Gedamin giants.
