Pallatha
Pallatha is the pre-Ithatian name for the eponymous Goddess of the Pallathantic Tribes who colonized the islands of the eastern Pallathantic Sea in ancient times. The goddess was thought to be the regional variation of the divinity known as Parkia. She was seen by the ancient as a mother divinity who combined many aspects of the sky goddess (Parkia) and the earthsea goddess (Magdaia). She is the namesake of the Pallathantic Tribes who in turn gave their name to the Pallathantic Sea. In ancient times, Pallatha was the goddess who brought nourishing rains from the sea and softened the harshness of the storm gods. She was anciently associated with starmoon.
The modern version of Pallatha is effectively an adaptation of the goddess Parkia whose functions and attributes have been accordingly brought into greater agreement with the sky goddess. The relationship between the name of 'Pallatha' and the moon goddess, 'Palithreeta' is debated among scholars.
