Savage Plateau
The Savage Plateau is so named for the many humanlike tribes which inhabit it and for its harsh climate and terrain. The plateau rests atop the north-westernmost spur of the Jaggudorn Mountains. It is bounded to the west-southwest by the valley of Zangolia through which the Shadew River passes. Virtually all rivers and streams from the Savage Plateau eventually drain into the Shadew River. The line of mountains running along the southwestern edge of the Savage Plateau are called the Aisdir Mountains and they are named after the colossal Aisdimidir Giants said to inhabit them. The climate of the plateau is fiercely cold and windy in the winter with heavy snows and a relatively short summer.
There are no permanent human or dwarven settlements of any size. The principle humanlikes of the region are goblinoids and Snow Orcs. Ogres and mountain giants also make their habitation in the region. There are thought to be no trolls in the region. The Savage Plateau is one of the few places in the West where are dragons are not rare inhabitants.
Snow bears, thraughbears, wolves, glambucks, snow lynxes and snow eagles find their habitat in and around the plateau.
The greatest humanlike cities of the Savage Plateau are Izhakhaav, Ukklig, and S'agondeel.
