Throes
A creature individually or a member of kind of creatures who is chaos-tainted. An individual may become chaos-tainted and thus be considered a throe by conversion. A type of creatures may be so imbued with chaos magic that they are said to be a Throe Race. The term 'throe' itself translates as a wander-word among the Pallathantic that refers to the ecstasy of chaos which is said to consume such creatures. A 'throelord' is a term that refers to ruler of a group of throes or to a creature that becomes progressively corrupted by chaos until he or she is imbued with vast power. Compare chaos ruler.
Throes, that is 'chaos-tainted' creatures are more susceptible and less resistant to the mind-powers of energists. For this reason, humans have held a strong upper hand on the world of Asdar over chaos creatures for much of the past several millennia. Other creatures, such as the giants are also more susceptible to energist powers, but are not inherently chaos-tainted as a race.
