Tirchaglawchli

Tirchaglawchli which means “graceful claws” in Medibgóëse, is the practice of making graceful movements with drakelings, originally used in warfare by the beast when on the ground to fight human combatants, cavalry, and even enemy drakelings. In this regard, it is similar to equine dressage. Although the rudiments of such techniques had been practiced for several millennia, modern tirchaglawchli was developed in the twenty fourth to twenty fifth centuries in Medibgö and the practice spread throughout the dragonmount warrior battalions of southern Pytharnia in the twenty seventh centuries. As dwarvenfire and increasingly titancraft weapons made dragonmount warfare largely obsolete, dragonmount battalions were increasingly used for ceremonial and parade functions of state and the art of Tirchaglawchli was proudly preserved.

Tirchaglawchli is considered the highest expression of dragonmount training. The knight and the drakeling execute a series of movements from memory wearing full parade armor and adornments. The broad wingspan and length of the beasts requires a great field or a broad avenue in which to execute the deft maneuvers. This particularly so when a group of several dragonmounts and riders perform synchronized tirchaglawchli.
