The Upper Basthavuda River flows northwards through the Northern Jaggudorn Mountains, then through the Great Losfital Pass, into the Great Disdrire Forest where it becomes the (Lower) Basthavuda River and ultimately merges with the Kasthavuna River. The Basthavuda, like the Kasthavuna, is not part of the immense Shadew River System. The Basthavuda River System is part of historic Colnoria.
The river passes over cascades and numerous rapids. It is fed by the glacial melt-water of the Jaggudorn Mountains.
