The Vitrarrig Sound is named after Vitrarrig the Somnolent, a powerful sorcerer who helped found Lugdunia. The northern expanse of the sound is called Thurbundy Bay. The body of water is important to the fishing and shipping of Charst and Urbundia. Lugdunia is the largest port city along its coast. Its waters are cool to cold. Vitrarrig Sound leads into Vitrarrig Strait and is considered part of the greater Gulf of Gonsky.
